Wycliffe Bible Translators USA, was incorporated in 1942 by Cameron Townsend and a small band of pioneer missionaries. Their heart to address the need for Bibles that are understood in the heart languages of the people of Mexico quickly grew to a global passion that included believers from around the world. Today, Wycliffe Bible Translator’s goal to bring Scriptures to the over 2,200 languages still in need is a central passion that drives The Seed Company.
Founder, Bernie May, started The Seed Company, an affiliate of Wycliffe Bible Translators, in 1993 following a successful tenure as president of Wycliffe Bible Translators with the mandate to accelerate Bible translation. His dream of empowering the global church to bring the Scriptures to their own people as quickly as possible is becoming a reality.
The Seed Company is currently working with national translation teams in over 500 Bible translation projects around the world that have the potential of impacting millions of people.
