“What could be more strategic than getting the Word of God into every tribe, nation and language? It really captures people’s imagination to get involved with a particular tribe of a particular nation and language, and to have the sense of connectedness that I am taking something of the assets that belong to God, that He has entrusted to me, and now I’m investing them in something that’s going to last for eternity.”

~ Randy Alcorn, Author & Speaker

In the 400’s Jerome translated the Bible into Latin. In the 1300’s John Wycliffe translated the Bible in to English. In the 1500’s Martin Luther translated the Bible into German and William Tyndale translate the Bible into English. Today, your can join the community and make history by partnering with national Bible translators who are ready to translate His Word into the language of their own people group. Here is a testimony of one group…

Our pastor, Jeff Adams, had a lifelong passion for the unreached. After he told me about The Seed Company, I hosted a small dinner party and their representatives shared several project opportunities. Our missions team fasted and prayed. The challenge gripped our hearts.

Kansas City Baptist Temple’s (KCBT) largest special projects missions offering to date was $32,000. We prayed and set a goal of $40,000 for the Las Flores translation project. I developed an action plan and a timeline for the congregation. Jeff and I committed publicly to give whenever an offering was taken. The congregation followed our lead.

During missions conference, Las Flores was the centerpiece. Families prayed, children collected loose change, and adults matched gifts. One night the loose change offering totaled $7000. The church united in one mighty thrust, gathering momentum in anticipation of presenting our surprise.

On the final night, Jeff asked The Seed Company to join him on stage and said, “Here is a check for $28,000 to complete the New Testament for the Las Flores people.” Thunderous applause erupted. After a brief pause he continued. “Our folks got so excited they just kept giving. They gave 731 pounds of coins! Her is a check for $40,000 for the Grasslands translation project.” Again, there was a cacophony of applause. God had surprised us with far more than the $40,000 goal!

In addition to funding, our congregation supports the national translators in intercessory prayer and is planning to help with publication and distribution of the Scriptures. We plan to visit and offer dental services. We also hope to charter a full plane for the two Scripture dedications.

For these two Mexican projects, KCBT is providing full support. In other translation projects where the end is far beyond one church’s reach, congregations are working together, one of God’s delightful surprises.
